Vitamin B12 injections and drips
Vitamin B12 is needed for energy, healthy nerves and making red blood cells. Low B12 is common, especially in older adults, vegetarians and vegans, people on long-term metformin or acid-reducing medicine, and people with gut conditions. Dr Govender gives B12 as an injection or as part of a drip.
Glutathione drip
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant made naturally by the body. Given as a drip, it helps protect cells from damage and supports the liver. Dr Govender gives glutathione as a drip, often combined with vitamin C.
For information about a vitamin B12 blood test, see the blood tests service page.

Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of a B12 injection?
In people with low B12, an injection can:
- improve energy and reduce tiredness
- support concentration and memory
- support healthy nerves
- help the body make healthy red blood cells
Injections bypass the gut, so they work even when B12 isn’t absorbed well from food or tablets.
How often is a glutathione drip given?
It depends on your health and your reasons for having it. Dr Govender advises how often is right for you.
Does glutathione have side effects?
Glutathione is usually well tolerated. Some people have mild bruising or discomfort where the drip goes in. Dr Govender gives glutathione as a slow drip rather than a quick injection, which is gentler on the body.
